Students who wouldn't typically have access to STEM related activities were given the opportunity to experience BEST and interact with a robot. We wanted to make younger students aware of the problem of damaged power lines and transformers. We also want them to be inspired to become leaders in STEM careers and electrical engineering. Our outreach is also a recruiting mechanism. We will lose 1/39 of our team to graduation next year. The classes were comprised of homeschool students in 1-12 grades and are therefore prospective members for years to come.
